All you wanted to know about Old Mill Sponsored Jockey - Jamie "JJ" Codd!

Old Mill Saddlery has been the proud sponsor of Amateur Jockey Jamie Codd for the past two years and have supplied him with all he needs to race from silks to saddles. Jamie narrowly missed out on the Irish Point to Point Championship last year (2010/2011 season), riding over 100 hundred winners, only the second rider ever to do so. We grabbed Jamie for five minutes when he was visiting Old Mill to get kitted out for the new season and asked him some quickfire questions! Here's what he had to say....

Favourite Moment Ever in Racing?
-Reaching the 100 winner's mark in last year's season.

Piece of Kit you wouldn't live without?
-My Lucky Red Hat.

-My iPhone, A five star hotel and my girlfriend.

If you weren't a jockey, what would you be?
-I've always liked the circus!

What does the second "J" in "JJ" stand for?
-John

Ambitions for the new season?
-To ride more winners than ever and stay in one piece!

Speaking of injuries, what is the worst you've ever had coming off a horse?
-A Lacerated Liver after a fall at Punchestown

Favourite Sport other than Racing?
-Hurling, I play for my local club in Wexford, St Fintans.

Ever tried your hand at any other equestrian sports?
-Three Day Eventing, I represented Ireland at Pony Club Level
